How to Turn Off Touch Screen on a Windows 10 Laptop or Tablet


Windows 10 offers a variety of ways to interact with your computer, including a touch screen. However, there may be times when you want to turn off the touch screen. Use Device Manager to Disable Your Touchscreen

Here’s how to disable your touchscreen using Device Manager:

1. Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting Device Manager from the menu.


2. In Device Manager, click on the arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list.


3. Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Disable.

4. Restart your computer and your touchscreen will be disabled.

Disable the Tablet Mode Setting

If that doesn’t work, you can try updating your touchscreen driver. (1) go to the Microsoft website and search for “Windows 10 drivers,” (2) find the “Touch Input” category, (3) download the latest driver for your device, (4) follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
