Google Sky Map is a great tool for stargazing, but what do you do if it’s not working? Here’s a guide on how to fix it.

Check Your Date and Time

If Google Sky Map isn’t working for you, the first thing you should check is your date and time settings. Google Sky Map relies on your device’s date and time settings to give you the correct information.

To check your date and time settings, open up your device’s Settings menu. Scroll down to Systems>>Date & Time.

Make sure that the Date and Time are set to the correct values. If they’re not, adjust them accordingly and see if that fixes the issue.

Check for Updates

Another troubleshooting tip is to check for updates. Here’s how:

1. Open Google Play Store.

2. Search for “Google Sky Map”.

3. If there is an update, you will see an Update button instead of the Open button. Mine is up to date, so I am seeing the Open button instead.

You should tap the Update button to keep your Sky Map up to date. This should solve the issue, but if it doesn’t, read on.

Check Your Internet Connection

If you’re having trouble getting Google Sky Map to work, another thing you should do is check your internet connection. Make sure you’re connected to the internet and that your browser is up-to-date.

If that doesn’t work, try force-stopping the app. Go to Settings and tap on Apps. Select Google Sky Map and tap on Force Stop. Then restart your device.

If your Google Sky Map isn’t working, another thing you can do is check your device. Make sure that your phone or tablet is up-to-date.

If that still doesn’t work, head over to the Google Sky map discussion page (This can be the Google Play page or any other forum). And see if anyone else is having the same problem. Chances are, you’re not the only one!
