How to easily check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

All information found in your phone lies in the storage which is like a hard drive of a computer. It usually has a limit that determines what data your phone can take and how fast it works.

There will never be enough storage space on your smartphone as much as you keeping it, so, it is advisable to constantly check your storage space whenever you want to make use of it for a long recording of video or take many pictures.

That being said, if you are an iOS device user, here is how to check available storage.

Step 1: Open the Settings app and tap General

Step 2: Tap iPhone (or iPad) Storage.

Note: Your device’s storage is mapped out on a grid, showing what is taking up space. If you scroll down to your apps, you’ll see, listed by size, apps that are taking up the most space on your device.

Step 4: Tap an app’s name for more information about its storage.

Step 5: In the detail view, you can either Offload the app or Delete the app, but note that Cached data and temporary data might not be counted as usage.

You can also check your device storage space when your iPhone or iPad is connected to your computer. You’ll find this information on Macs running macOS Catalina or later in Finder. You’ll find it in iTunes on PCs and Macs running macOS Mojave and older.
