Without a doubt, Slack is a business tool that unifies various teams either for short-term or long-term projects. When you hire someone to work for you, sooner or later, you might decide to disengage the person, or the individual might leave on his own, especially when the project being worked on is done. As you can not leave someone that isn’t part of your team anymore to be having access to information at will, it is the reason why Slack being a business tool has a ‘deactivation’ feature to shut any account whose service isn’t required any longer.
That being said, the guide you are about to read is how to deactivate a member’s account on Slack.
However, before we go further, it is of importance to note that your role in Slack will determine the types of accounts you’re able to deactivate. In short, only owners and admins can deactivate members’ accounts.

Also, note that people aren’t notified when their accounts are deactivated, nor are their messages or files deleted. They’ll be signed out of your workspace(s) on all devices, and unable to sign back in. Some apps may also be disabled when certain accounts are deactivated. However, you can reactivate the account, if need be.
