Misplacing your Android phone can be frustrating, apart from the cost of purchasing a new phone, our smartphones have been a great companion, and may contain important and sensitive information that cannot get into the wrong hand.
Luckily, all android phone comes with a tracking utility that is automatically turned on in case of loss or theft, provided you have signed into the phone with your Google account.

Steps to remotely track, lock, and Erase your Android phone
Once you confirmed that the prerequisites mentioned above are satisfied, you may proceed with the following steps:
Step 2: A list of devices using the google account will be displayed at the top of the phone, you can select the missing device by clicking on it.
The current status of the device will be shown as indicated below:
You will also get an approximate location of the device.
If the device can’t be found, you will get an approximate of its last known location instead.
Step 3: You can ring up your device by choosing the “play sound” option.
Once you find your device, you can stop the sound by pressing the “Power key”.
Step 4: You can change the password for your device by clicking on the “Secure Device” option.
You will have the option to set up a new password for your device.
Step 4: You can also completely erase your device to prevent sensitive contents from getting into the wrong hands by choosing the “Erase device option”.
Click on the “ERASE DEVICE” Button as shown below, you may be required to input your password to confirm.
Once your device is erased, it can’t be located, if it is offline, the erasing process will begin once it comes online.
Find your phone using the “Find my device” App on another phone
You can equally locate your android device from another smartphone having the “Find my Device,” App.
Step 1: Install “Find my device” from Google play store
Step 2: If you already have your account saved on the phone, you can choose your account to continue, Else you can sign in as a guest.
Step 3: From here, you can ring your device, secure it by changing the password or erase it by following the steps previously described.
