A recently conducted research by Statista has shed light on what happened every minute on the internet in 2021 and find out nearly 70 million messages were sent via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
Recall that the coronavirus outbreak and the prolonged lockdown has changed people’s lifestyle completely globally. Larger section of the society now depends on the internet, making a surge in the internet usage than it use to be.
This is Statista based its research on and as a result, it has shed more light on what happened every minute on the internet for the year 2021.
The findings revealed that nearly 70 million messages were sent via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. In addition, it find out that in every 60 seconds more than 500 hours of content was uploaded on YouTube and 695,000 stories were shared on Instagram.
Likewise, in every 60 seconds, there were two million swipes on Tinder and 1.6 million US dollars was spent online.
This will further increase as most commercial activities are being moved to the internet and aside that, lots of downloads and uploads, posts and searches, messages sent and received, listen and streams are continuing being made as every minute passes by on the internet.
